Helene Williams is an American singer, actress, and teacher from New York. With her first husband, conductor Michael Spierman, she co-founded The Bronx Opera Company, with whom she sang numerous roles, and performed with him in North and South America. In 1987 she began working with composer/conductor Leonard Lehrman, with whom she has performed over 600 times, including concert tours of Australia, Israel, Russia, Belarus, France, Italy, both Germanys, and throughout the United States and Canada. Lehrman has, to date, written over 100 works for her, including leading roles in his operas New World and The Wooing and musicals Superspy! and The Booby Trap. Together they have recorded on Opus One, Premier, Capstone,Albany, Original Cast, and Ravello (Parma Records). Their marriage, July 14, 2002, was written up in the NY Times. In 1989 she and Lehrman co-founded The Elie Siegmeister Society and The Opera/Musical Theatre Special Interest Group of The Naturist Society. In 2000 they co-founded Court Street Music in Valley Stream, NY. Their over 2400 videos on YouTube have been viewed over 230,000 times. Helene has performed in 17 languages: English, German, Yiddish, Hebrew, French, Dutch, Russian, Ukrainian, Latin, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Armenian, Japanese, Spanish, Ancient Greek, and Ladino.
